The Commission Process

Thinking of Commissioning your own EyePhone? I love working with clients on Commissions! A good place to start is to know if there are specific pieces from my current work that you are attracted to. I also want to know who I will be painting… is it you? A loved one?
Typically I work from photos. The photos do not need to be high resolution photos specifically of eyes. I often will find photos on social media that I will paint from. You can share a social media account (like instagram) and I can make suggestions for good images to use. I like to see a variety of photos to get good sense of what the person looks like that I am about to paint.

I will offer a selection of what iPhone screens are available to be used for the painting. You are even welcome to book an appointment to visit the studio if you wish to handle and select the screen before the painting happens!
I will create a digital mock up of the direction I will take for the painting. It’s this digital stage that I can easily make edits and adjustments, if something needs to be bigger, smaller, lighter, darker, ect…. now is the time to address changes. But once you are happy with the mock up, then I will proceed with the painting.
The painting time depends how booked up my commission schedule is, but the time of starting the painting, drying, varnishing and framing, is about 4 - 6 weeks.
