After working in computer animation for over a decade, I yearned for something tactile & tangible. I started painting in oils in 2013, focusing in on still life painting. Painting common everyday items I was interested in capturing a hidden life or character in those inanimate objects . In 2015, I found myself painting some of my friend's pets. Pet portrait commissions are very rewarding for me artistically - challenging, yet so much fun. In 2016 I began exploring themes of human experience in my oil paintings. I narrowed my focus to the power of hands to amplify the importance of actions that lead to life choices. I employ a loose realistic style, with focus on specific details. I love to work with lighting & value to create mood & atmosphere.
